At the Garden Tour last Saturday Vivian's garden was the first one we visited. Here she is greeting the first busload of quilter/gardeners. The quilt is my Wren's Nest from several years ago. At this point my camera battery went dead. Other staff membrs took photos which I
will borrow and post.
Today I visited a wonderful hosta farm south of Des Moines. They have over 900 varieties. The photo is of one holding bed. The place was truly amazing and it was a beautiful day. I don't want you to think this is a hosta blog but it's Summer and I do love theme.

Finding my old blog

A few people have asked for a link to my old Yahoo blog. It will be available until July 12th if you want to save something.

I still hope to move all the old content to this new blog, but I'm not positive I will be able to.

Hosta gardening

I'm still trying to get used to this new blog so bear with me. I took a few photos this evening of some of my hostas. The first photo is of a new bed I'm starting. It will all be miniature hostas.

The large one is probably my favorite. It's Sum and Substance. This one is just a baby. It's about three feet across and the leaves are the size of dinner plates, but it's going to get bigger!
We have a new toy at the shop. It's a bias tape machine and amazing. I used it today to make some vines for a new sample. I hope to show you how to use it soon.

Glad you found me!

This will probably be a learning experience for all of us. I really had no advance warning that the old Yahoo 360 blofg was shutting down. I decided this was a good time to try something new.

You should be able just to link here from my website http://www.prairiestarquilts.com/ or come directly to http://www.juliesquiltblog.blogspot.com/

This is a fun new Halloween panel. It would make a great new outdoor banner.
